Club Esportu Arta - WBSC Football Exchange
Whitley Bay Sporting Club stepped in to travel to Majorca to play a series of friendlies against sides from Club Esportiu Arta in March 2019 when another club was unable to travel. Since then, the relationship has become strong and CE Arta were invited to the North East to play a series of games in June 2019.
Our then U15 Blues travelled in March 19 to play games against the Spanish side’s U14 and U16 sides as well as participate in a round robin with another local side. In June 2019, CE Arta travelled to the UK under coach Tony Valle Font and as well as touring St James’ park and seeing the sights of Newcastle by boat, played games against Newcastle City, Whitley Bay FC and of course Whitley Bay Sporting Club.
We will look to continue the links between the clubs in the future by hopefully sending other age groups from the club to play games in Majorca as it is a fantastic experience for our players.
